Vaseline?!!!!!

It appears that GSP may have had Vaseline applied to his neck, torso and back, which could explain why BJ had so much trouble controlling GSP's head and upper body on the ground. Considering all the blows that BJ ate because of this, this could very well have been a decisive factor...although to be honest, BJ may have lost anyway, just not as spectacularly.

Wow, huh? Who would have thought....I remember something similar happened with Chu Sung Hoon, or Akiyama Yoshihiro, who was banned from fighting for a year or so, over in K-1. What kind of punishment with GSP recieve, if any? We'll see.

Afterword: It seems that it turns out GSP had nothing to do with it, it was more the cornerman's fault. Whether he did it on purpose or not is not the issue anymore. They've changed the regulations so that only the Cutman can applay vaseline, and when this happens only one of the cutmen can remain in the cage, the other must step out.

Penn's side initially just wanted to make note of it, but because GSP's side responded with a "We ain't done nothing wrong, if you have a problem let's have a rematch" type of answer, they decided to go a step further and file a formal complaint, as well as accepting the rematch challenge.

I'm glad that they did file a formal complaint, but the rematch? Even without the vaseline, Penn is more likely to lose than not, if their last fight was any clue. I still think the vaseline could have played a somewhat significant role, but since Penn was being dominated even when NOT on his back, it probably wouldn't have changed the end result. Well, I do like Penn, I was really hoping he would live up to his words in this fight, and maybe he will train harder and really prove himself this time.
